Capital One Credit Made Clearer campaign

capitalone-logoThere are two events every year that we put more planning into than anything else; Christmas, and our annual sabbatical to the sun. For the latter, everything is planned to perfection. We spend hours on the net choosing accommodation, checking out restaurant reviews and treating ourselves to new holiday clothes. What we don’t spend much time on is our spending downfall, and that has been the downfall of many tourists.

The fact that every year thousands of British tourists are being burnt by more than the sun has been picked up on by Capital One, and they have revealed a new campaign to stop this happening any more. Two videos are now available to view online to help get the point across. Under the heading of Credit Made Clearer, the first video is sub-headed ‘How to book a worry-free holiday’.

It features an animated tourist on holiday and shows the things that can go wrong, poor accommodation, bad weather, lousy food etc. It emphasises that the main thing is to be prepared for any eventuality, so you can deal with anything that comes along. Senor Flamenco then steps forward and gives some handy hints to make sure you are protected while out of the country.

These tips include such things as making sure you are covered by both ABTA and ATOL if you book a package holiday. For those who like to take things upon themselves and book the elements of their holidays separately, it also points out that you may not be covered if things go wrong, and the chances of refunds or being flown home are vastly reduced.
